$190,000 Awarded this Spring

This spring we made 75 grants totaling $190,000 to help children and youth in the crosshairs. This cycle’s awards included several to help kids whose parents are peace activists in the Midwest targeted in recent months by grand jury and FBI witch hunts, and other children whose parents are environmental activists swept up in the Green Scare and treated as “domestic terrorists.” We also approved awards for youth who’ve been under attack for their own activism, including an undocumented young woman fighting for immigrants’ rights, and students at the University of Puerto Rico leading non-violent protests against the corporatization of their school.
