The Mammals at Hinterland

“An energetic burst of light at a time when we could all use a little more... The Mammals are all heart" - Folk Alley

Join us for a very special evening of farm to table food and high energy, danceable roots music, with The Mammals, led by RFC Advisory Board members Mike Merenda & Ruth Ungar.

The Mammals in Concert to Benefit the Rosenberg Fund for Children

Sometimes described as “subversive acoustic traditionalists” and a “party band with a conscience” The Mammals are Ruth Ungar, Mike Merenda, and a cohort of compelling collaborators who form a thrilling howl of Americana fiddle, banjo, guitar, organ, bass, and drums. These guys are fun! And their emotionally-charged songs are heavily influenced by traditional folk, soul, old-time, blues, Cajun, Celtic and rock and roll. “The Mammals don’t suffer from multiple genre syndrome, they celebrate it as if gleefully aware that the sound barriers separating old-timey music, vintage pop and contemporary folk are as permeable as cotton.” – The Washington Post

Chefs Alex Kemper and Katrina Pierson of Little Truc will prepare a seasonal feast served family style at rustic farm tables. “It’s just good ingredients, prepared thoughtfully,” says Kemper. Menu to be announced shortly.

Doors open for dinner at 6, music starts closer to 8. There are a limited number of low cost, standing/dancing room only tickets for those interested in attending just the concert.

The uber-scenic grounds will be open from 1:00 pm on for hiking, snowshoeing and x-country skiing (BYO gear), and no Hinterland evening would be complete without a roaring bonfire and complimentary hot beverages to warm you inside and out.

Net proceeds will go to the Rosenberg Fund for Children. The RFC helps kids in the U.S. whose activist parents are under attack, and youth activists who are harmed directly. With RFC funding, children are able to go to camp and get therapy, make art, play sports, and do other joyful and healing things, while they or their parents fight to protect immigrants, combat racism and police brutality, preserve the environment, and safeguard the rights of queer and trans folks, workers, prisoners, and others whose lives are under threat.
